General information about the course
This MOOC explains and practices how digital media and methods can be integrated into outdoor learning settings. The MOOC provides an overview of digital tools and explores the didactic benefits of digital tools and how a good mix of real experience and digital applications can be achieved. The aim of the MOOC is to support participants in developing and implementing a constructive, critical and curious approach to digital tools in their educational work with and in nature.

In six modules, learners are interactively guided through the topic "Digitally supported outdoor learning":

Learning goals
- Get to know the basics of nature education
- Get to know the basics of green pedagogy
- Get to know and apply methods of digital learning
- Creation of a learning setting "Digitally supported outdoor learning"
- Reflection on one's own pedagogical practice
Prerequisites
No specific previous knowledge is necessary, but it is helpful if you already have experience in planning and holding teaching & learning settings.
Course schedule
The course begins in a revised version on November 17, 2023 with the first module. Another module is published every two weeks. The course is a self -learning course without live sessions and can be completed independently.
Certificate
For actively participating in the course you will receive an automatic certificate which includes your username, the course name as well as the completed lessons. We want to point out that this certificate merely confirms that the user answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions correctly.

Course Instructor
Lea Köder
Lea Köder works at the University of Applied Sciences for Agricultural and Environmental Education. There she heads the project "Plattform Naturvermittlung", an education and networking initiative for nature educators in Austria.
As an environmental educator, she deals with the further development of pedagogical learning formats in the field of nature education. In addition, one focus of her work is the further development and professionalization of the profession of environmental education.
The digital transformation in society also includes the world of education. This shows that nature and technology do not have to be contradictory and can ideally benefit each other.
