IG LEBENSZYKLUS BAU optimizes the processes between all companies and organizations involved in the building life cycle. The goal of the association, founded in 2012, is to support building owners in the planning, construction, financing, and management of holistically optimized, life-cycle-oriented buildings. The focus is on an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach among all project participants. Within the framework of numerous working groups, more than 60 member companies and cooperation partners of the association jointly develop the necessary management services and service profiles for the sharing of responsibilities and risks across the areas of procurement quality, architecture and specialized planning, financing, legal affairs, and facility management. Building owners can refer to the cross-phase and cross-disciplinary guide “The Path to Life-Cycle-Oriented Building Construction,” which was reissued in 2014—numerous specialized publications have also been released for additional sub-areas. The animated film “Building with a Future”, produced in 2014, helps convey the central role of the building owner in the holistic planning of building construction. All publications can be requested free of charge at http://www.ig-lebenszyklus.at.
