What is a MOOC Fellowship?

At iMooX.at, we want to actively promote and support the use of our openly licensed and free MOOCs in educational programmes. We would like to learn more about who uses our MOOCs in their own teaching and how they are used.

“Fellows” are teachers who use one of our MOOCs, or parts of it that they did not create themselves, in an effective way in teaching, training or coaching, and share this use with us.

How do you become an iMooX Fellow?

To become an iMooX Fellow, please use the form linked below to let us know how you plan to use iMooX MOOCs in your own teaching.

Submissions are always intended for the coming school/academic/course year so that you have sufficient time to plan the course, even if you require advice or support in advance.

You can apply as a Fellow regardless of which educational institution you teach at and what format your course has.

At the end of the programme, we invite all fellows to a networking event where they can share their experiences.

Confirmation of fellowships and coordination of further support: after the application deadline, by no later than: 10. אפריל 2026
Period of your teaching with MOOCs: September 2026 to July 2027

What are the benefits for me as a teacher?

You can use existing open educational resources (OER) in your own teaching. We will ensure that the MOOC is available and kept up to date during your fellowship.
You will receive support and assistance from the iMooX team for technical or educational questions.
Invitation to the annual MOOC Summit, where you can exchange ideas with other fellows, MOOC creators and iMooX partners.
iMooX Fellowship Certificate upon completion of the programme, providing evidence of the competent use of OER in your own university teaching.

Listed on the iMooX.at website as a Fellow to make your teaching commitment visible.
Networking opportunities within an active MOOC community for further potential collaborations in the field of university teaching.
Collaboration with the iMooX team on scientific publications related to the use of MOOCs in teaching.
