Kursinformation

Kursinnehåll

The diversity of problems in computer science makes it impossible to give a brief or complete definition of computer science.
It is also impossible to cover all topics in a three-week introductory course.

However, we have to start at some point...
So we've tried to select the most important concepts/basics and ideas of computer science and
teach them in such a way that the participants can quickly get a broader picture of computer science.

Furthermore, it should be possible for the participants to identify and create connections between topics.

Lärandemål

The course participants acquire skills in the following knowledge domains:

  • Introduction: history, milestones, definition of "computer science", data-information-knowledge.
  • Information processing systems: hardware-software, input-process-output, number system, logic
  • Computational thinking skills: definition of "computational thinking", properties of algorithms, from an algorithm to an executable program
  • Programming: first steps with Python, basic elements and concepts of programming
  • Internet: functional principle and technologies
  • Digital ethics: selected social aspects of information technologies

Förkunskaper

There is no previous knowledge expected.

Kursplan

The course consists of 6 lessons. The individual lessons include:

  • introductory videos and additional materials as input
  • (interactive) exercises and tasks for practical application and consolidation
  • self-assessment-questions concerning the acquired knowledge and understanding

Note: You can do 2 lessons per week.

Certifikat

For actively participating in the course you will receive an automatic confirmation of participation (certificate) which includes your username, the course title, course duration as well as the hours required to complete the course.
