Tech2Match - Introduction to pain (and technologies)

The course “Introduction to Pain (and Technologies)” serves as the entry point to the series “Tech2Match – Technologies for Patients with Pain” and provides the necessary foundation to progress to the subsequent courses, where each technology is explored in detail. The course initially covers the fundamentals of pain, followed by pain taxonomy, measurement and assessment, psycho-social models, and pain management. As a bridge to the other courses in the series, it addresses the potential support technologies can offer to patients, while also considering critical reflections and possible risks.

Obiettivi formativi

Participants acquire knowledge about pain, its causes, models, theories, and mechanisms. They develop skills in using technology to support communication, assessment, and management of pain, and explore the ethical implications of technology use in various healthcare contexts. Competencies in problem-solving, decision-making, and communication are fostered through practical scenarios, taking into account usability challenges, risks, and data management.

Procedimento del corso

The Tech2Match course consists of two parts - learning activities in the MOOC and learning activities requiring teacher/student or student/student cooperation, which are provided through the Tech2Match website. The MOOC provides all learning activities related to module 1 - Introduction to pain (and technologies), while learning activities in the technology-specific units are divided between the MOOC and the Tech2Match homepage.

This course is applicable as a stand-alone course, with no requirements for accessing learning activities or material from the Tech2Match homepage. All units in the MOOC include self-assesment tests of knowledge acquired, requiring 50% of questions answered correctly to pass the test.        

For actively participating in the course you will receive an automatic certificate which includes your username, the course name as well as the completed lessons. We want to point out that this certificate merely confirms that the user answered at least 50% of the self-assessment questions correctly.
