Kurssin tiedot

Yleistä tietoa kurssista

The field of home nursing is constantly growing and employees find themselves in a challenging environment. They often have to make decisions on their own, react flexibly to unforeseen circumstances and deal with complex patient situations in an individually tailored manner.

The course is primarily aimed at works councils and interested individuals who want to actively shape working conditions in healthcare.

This MOOC was made possible with the support of the Work 4.0 project fund of the Chamber of Labor for Lower Austria.

Kurssin sisältö

The course was developed as part of the OMAHA research project. OMAHA stands for Organizing and Co-determination - Action Research for Mobile Home Nursing. In this project, the co-determination structures for dislocated care areas were analysed and (further) developed with regard to their organizational capacity.

The course consists of an introduction to the research project and three units.

Unit 1: Introduction to the theory of organizing and practical examples

Unit 2: Home care and its job demands

Unit 3: Promoting co-determination in home care

Oppimistavoitteet

The general aim of the course is to convey theories of co-determination in the workplace as well as insights into home nursing and its work requirements, and to identify options for co-determination.

In detail, the following should be achieved:

Understand organizing as an opportunity for operational co-determination.

Describe the complex work requirements of home nursing.

Developing ideas for activating and organizing employees in home nursing.

Edellytykset

No special previous knowledge is required.

Kurssien aikataulu

The units can be self-directed and completed immediately one after the other.

Sertifikaatti

For actively participating in the course you will receive an automatic certificate which includes your name, the course name as well as the completed lessons. We want to point out that this certificate merely confirms that you answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions correctly.

Disclaimer

The treatment and representation of different genders is part of an ongoing debate that thrives on a diversity of views. We have therefore decided to treat the representation of genders differently in the videos. This can and should lead to critical questioning and food for thought.

We faced a similar situation when deciding how to refer to the people who receive care and support from mobile home care services. These people are often referred to as customers in mobile care services. However, they can also be understood as patients. We decided to refer to these individuals as people in need of care, as they require some form of care and support in the broadest sense. This, too, may lead to critical questioning and stimulate discussion.
