General Course Information

#sustainablemindset #sysmindproject # discoveringasustainablemindset

This course is open to all interested parties but especially aims at teachers and trainers in vocational education and training. It wants to support them in constructively guiding their learners in discovering a more sustainable mindset.

Factual knowledge alone very rarely leads to (a change in) actions. Values and personal relation to the respective topic play a decisive role - and spiritual, religious, and cultural aspects are also drivers of individual behaviour. All of this must be considered to support the development of a more sustainable mindset.

Content

Course Content

In the following five units, we will show you how complex and multi-layered the development of a sustainable mindset is:

Lesson 1: Introduction to the Topic of Sustainable Development

Lesson 2: The Four Elements - Connectors between Science, Culture and Spirituality

Lesson 3: Spirituality and Sustainability

Lesson 4: Attitudes and Values - Modules of the Mindset

Lesson 5: Assessment, Evaluation and Best Practice Examples

Course Goals

After completing this course, graduates will be able to

  • reflect on their own cultural, religious and spiritual background and consider this as a prerequisite for their work with heterogeneous student groups;
  • support learners to reflect on their own thinking in relation to sustainability from their individual cultural, religious and spiritual perspective and background;
  • develop knowledge, skills and competences on intercultural, interreligious and spiritual approaches to sustainability issues;
  •  use teaching methods and techniques that take into account cultural, spiritual and religious diversity and promote sustainable development.

Previous Knowledge

No previous knowledge is required.

Course Procedure

The course consists of five units, containing at least one video, various additional materials and a final quiz. The individual units are activated at the same time and can also be completed individually.

The course is available as a self-study course.

Certificate

For actively participating in the course you will receive an automatic certificate which includes your username, the course name and completed units. We want to point out that this certificate merely confirms that the user answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions correctly.
As the units can also be completed individually, a badge is awarded for the successful completion of each unit.
