Welcome to the iPad Innovation Academy MOOC series!
Anna Weghuber and Thomas Wimmer have developed a completely new online training series, the ‘iPad Innovation Series’, which has already attracted more than 10,000 participants. This MOOC series expands our digital training programme and allows teachers to explore the possibilities of the iPad in detail and, most importantly, at their own pace.
The entertaining content is presented with humour and charm and encourages participants to try things out. The aim is to recognise the potential of the iPad, illustrate practical examples and subsequently apply these possibilities at all levels (primary and secondary education) and subjects. This MOOC series also supports teachers who teach the new subject ‘Digital Basic Education’.
The 6 different MOOCs can be taken independently of each other, but it is advisable to follow them in the order given.
MOOCs overview:
- iPad Innovation Academy: Basics
Learn the basics in a fun and relaxed way. Technology has never been so easy. - iPad Innovation Academy: Video
Create explanatory videos, screencasts, creative films, etc. without complex technical equipment. - iPad Innovation Academy: Animation & Presentation
Animate learning content and make it understandable with digital media. - iPad Innovation Academy: Image & Sound
With a sound studio in your pocket, you can easily create music recordings, voice recordings or entire audio books. - iPad Innovation Academy: Collaborative work
Shared documents can be created and edited from any location. Creative methods can also be integrated to add innovation to regular school activities. - iPad Innovation Academy: Lesson design
Different applications are connected to create a multimedia experience.
MOOC certificates
For active participation in the 6 MOOCs, an automated certificate containing your username, the course name and the units completed will be issued after each completion of a MOOC. Please note that this is only a confirmation that you have answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions correctly.
Crediting in PH-Online
If you have successfully completed one of the 6 MOOCs, you will find the registration link to a PH-Online event in the certificate download. Register for this training event. You must be enrolled at the Private University of Education, Diocese of Linz. Also send the respective MOOC certificate to ipad_academy@phdl.at. PH online certificates of attendance with 7 teaching units per MOOC are issued quarterly.
If you have any questions, please contact ipad_academy@phdl.at.
One more thing: Graduation with the Apple Teacher Certificate!
In unit 4 of each of the 6 MOOCs, there is a reference to the ‘Apple Learning Centre’, where the content covered in the MOOC is repeated and summarised.
Work through these lessons and complete the corresponding quiz to receive your badge. Collect all six badges to become an Apple Teacher.
We hope you enjoy your creative work and want to leave you these words:
Get into action! Everything is effective—nothing is wrong, just different!
