The University of Innsbruck was founded in 1669. Today, it is the largest and most important research and educational institution in Western Austria with 28,000 students and 5,000 employees. Located in the heart of the Alps, the University of Innsbruck offers the best conditions for successful research and teaching. International rankings confirm the University of Innsbruck‘s leading role in basic research. In this successful environment, 16 faculties offer a wide range of study programs across all disciplines.
