Learn more basics on the iPad and take your teaching to a new level! Use the recording studio in your pocket and produce your own music, voice recordings or entire audio books! Overall, voice recordings in class encourage active participation of students, improve their communication skills and provide an opportunity for self-evaluation and individual development.
In addition, discover the many uses of Safari that will take your teaching to the next level. Instead of struggling with outdated scanning and copying, learn how to customise web pages to your needs, save them as PDFs and share them effortlessly via AirDrop.
The dictation function and the possibility of translating on the iPad open up a variety of perspectives for you to create an interactive and enriching learning environment that promotes the communication and linguistic development of the students in an innovative way.

Course Content
In four lessons, we'll show you everything you need to start digital lessons with the iPad:- Lesson 1 (Image & Sound: Voice recordings)
The app "Sprachmemos" on the iPad enables uncomplicated audio recordings. Ideal for oral exercises, presentations and language analysis in class. Students can listen to their progress and work on their speaking skills. - Lesson 2 (Image & Sound: Printer & scanner always with you)
Experience magical moments in class! Learn how to make annoying ads disappear from web pages in the Safari browser. Amaze everyone by creating PDFs with ease. And as a bonus: Discover how to scan documents and create digital masterpieces. Your iPad becomes a magic wall of knowledge! - Lesson 3 (Image & Sound: Dictation)
Discover the magical transformation of your words in class on the iPad: Speak texts, they become writing. Let stories come alive when the iPad magic reads aloud. And open the gates to new horizons by effortlessly stepping over language barriers - let the art of translation amaze you. Turn learning into magic! - Lesson 4 (Image & Sound: Inspiration & Apple Learning Center)
Motto: “Sharing is caring”. Educators use the technologies on the iPad in a variety of ways. In this lesson, we present many practice-oriented teaching examples that invite you to try them out in the class and motivate you to do something.
Reference is also made here to the Apple Learning Center, where the content discussed in the MOOC is repeated and summarized.
Course Goals

- can clearly display web pages without advertising.
- can generate a PDF from learning content or web pages they have created themselves.
- learn how to use the iPad as a mobile scanner.
- can display self-recorded texts as written text using the dictation function.
- learn how to have written texts read out to them.
- can have texts translated into other languages.
- learn about the recording functions in the GarageBand app and create, for example, an interview, a short radio play, a podcast,...
- purchase the bagde “GarageBand for iPad” in the Education Community Learning Center.
- are inspired with many practical teaching examples.
Previous Knowledge
No special previous knowledge is necessary.
Course Procedure
The course consists of four lessons, each containing at least one video, various additional materials and a final quiz. The individual lessons are all activated at the start of the MOOC and are then available as self-learning courses.

In order to deepen the learning content and to give you the opportunity to exchange ideas with Anna Weghuber and Thomas Wimmer, we are offering a one-off Zoom question time on the following date, in which you can participate voluntarily:

Certificate
For active participation in the course, an automated certificate will be issued upon completion, which contains your user name, the course name and the completed lessons. It should be noted that this is only a confirmation that you have correctly answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions.Licence

FAQs
- Do I have to create an iMooX account to take part in the course?
If you are already enrolled at a college/university, you can select "eduID" when logging in and then log in with your PH online access data from your university. Otherwise you can of course register again. - Are there fixed lesson times during which I have to be online?
No, the modules are completed in self-study.
However, there is an online question time on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., which you can attend voluntarily.
The invitation will follow by email. - I missed the MOOC start time, can I still join?
Yes, you can join the course at any time. - How do I get a PH-Online participation confirmation?
If you have successfully completed the MOOC, you will find the registration link to a PH online event at the end of lesson 4. Register for this training event. Prerequisite is the enrollment at the Private University of Education, Diocese Linz . Also send the MOOC certificate to ipad_academy@phdl.at. The PH online participation confirmations with 7 teaching units are issued quarterly. - I heard that after the 6 MOOCs you also have the certification for the Apple Teacher?
In each of the 6 MOOCs of the iPad Innovation Academy series, lesson 4 refers to the Apple Learning Center, where the content discussed in the MOOC is repeated and summarized. Work through these lessons and complete the relevant quiz to earn your badge. Earn all six badges and you'll be certified as an Apple Teacher and meet the requirements to become an Apple Learning Coach.
