Our everyday lives are heavily influenced by digitalization. This opens up many possibilities for a wide variety of situations. This includes, for example, making an appointment with a doctor, online shopping, reading and sending messages and much more. But digitalization also presents us with new challenges. To ensure that EVERYONE can benefit from it, we need to think about accessibility. This MOOC deals with this topic. In a total of 14 videos, the topic is examined from different angles. In 6 lessons on different sub-areas, this course aims to provide a basic understanding of the topic.Introduction to digital accessibility - general explanation and an initial overview.
- Legal framework in Austria and the EU - an overview of the various laws before and up to 2023
- Accessible publishing of digital content - different application examples and tips for an accessible web presence
- Ensuring accessibility in digital projects - project management and digital accessibility
- Checking the accessibility of a website - several tests for self-checking websites
- Web usage behavior - interviews with affected persons and their experiences at work and in everyday life.
Ciljevi kursa
After completing this MOOC, you will know what digital accessibility means and how it can be complied with in the best possible way. Through the various topics of the lessons, you will have an overview of the legal situation (as of 2023) and will be able to check a website yourself for the most important aspects of digital accessibility. You will know what must be taken into account to make content accessible to ALL and why, and which small changes make a big difference for some people.
Predznanje
No special prior knowledge is required for the majority of the course. If you have no prior knowledge of the topic, it is recommended that you complete the course in the order provided, as there are references to other lessons in the videos. For lesson 3, a basic knowledge of the Typo3 content management system is an advantage, as the content in this lesson makes strong reference to Typo3.
Način provođenja kursa
The course consists of a total of 6 lessons, each made up of 1-4 videos. All lessons are available to you and you can watch the videos in any order and at any time. The videos contain reflection questions and interactive elements. You will also find additional content on the topic in the individual lessons. You can use the forum to share and discuss the content. At the end of each lesson, a quiz tests and consolidates the content of the respective lesson.
