Course Content
In four lessons, we'll show you everything you need to start digital lessons with the iPad:- Lesson 1 (Lesson planning: Brainstorming)
The Notes app allows students and teachers to effortlessly capture ideas, sketch concepts and organise resources. With intuitive operation and seamless synchronisation, it offers space for creativity and structure at the same time. - Lesson 2 (Lesson planning: Portfolio)
With the Pages app, you can easily transform your traditional worksheets into interactive masterpieces. Integrate images, audio, video and interactive elements to enrich the learning process and learn how to create an eBook. - Lesson 3 (Lesson planning: Work assignments rethought)
In this lesson, you will learn how to create captivating memojis using the iPad. Discover how to cleverly add them as pictures or videos to your multimedia workbooks, adding a personal touch to your lessons. - Lesson 4 (Lesson planning: Inspiration & Apple Learning Center)
Motto: “Sharing is caring”. Educators use the technologies on the iPad in a variety of ways. In this lesson, we present many practice-oriented teaching examples that invite you to try them out in the class and motivate you to do something.
Reference is also made here to the Apple Learning Center, where the content discussed in the MOOC is repeated and summarized.
Course Goals
The participants ...
- learn to combine different Apple Apps for lesson preparation and lesson design.
- can design learning posters, posters, interactive worksheets, etc. with Pages or Keynote in a graphically appealing way.
- learn how to collect their ideas in the Notes app as a team.
- learn how to create a multimedia work document in the Pages app by inserting text, images, voice recordings and videos.
- know how to export their finished digital working document as an eBook.
- can create static and animated memojis (avatars).
- Know how memojis can be used as a creative safe space to provide students with a safe and personal outlet for expression, thus encouraging their emotional participation and self-development in the learning process.
- purchase the bagde “Pages for iPad” in the Education Community Learning Center.
- are inspired with many practical teaching examples.
Previous Knowledge
No special previous knowledge is necessary.
Course Procedure
The course consists of four lessons, each containing at least one video, various additional materials and a final quiz. The individual lessons are all activated at the start of the MOOC and are then available as self-learning courses.

In order to deepen the learning content and to give you the opportunity to exchange ideas with Anna Weghuber and Thomas Wimmer, we are offering a one-off Zoom question time on the following date, in which you can participate voluntarily:

Certificate
For active participation in the course, an automated certificate will be issued upon completion, which contains your user name, the course name and the completed lessons. It should be noted that this is only a confirmation that you have correctly answered at least 75% of the self-assessment questions.Licence

FAQs
- Do I have to create an iMooX account to take part in the course?
If you are already enrolled at a college/university, you can select "eduID" when logging in and then log in with your PH online access data from your university. Otherwise you can of course register again. - Are there fixed lesson times during which I have to be online?
No, the modules are completed in self-study.
However, there is an online question time on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., which you can attend voluntarily.
The invitation will follow by email. - I missed the MOOC start time, can I still join?
Yes, you can join the course at any time. - How do I get a PH-Online participation confirmation?
If you have successfully completed the MOOC, you will find the registration link to a PH online event at the end of lesson 4. Register for this training event. Prerequisite is the enrollment at the Private University of Education, Diocese Linz . Also send the MOOC certificate to ipad_academy@phdl.at. The PH online participation confirmations with 7 teaching units are issued quarterly. - I heard that after the 6 MOOCs you also have the certification for the Apple Teacher?
In each of the 6 MOOCs of the iPad Innovation Academy series, lesson 4 refers to the Apple Learning Center, where the content discussed in the MOOC is repeated and summarized. Work through these lessons and complete the relevant quiz to earn your badge. Earn all six badges and you'll be certified as an Apple Teacher and meet the requirements to become an Apple Learning Coach.
